Angel Reese Is the Best Basketball Player in Atlanta. Yes, I Said It.

The Dream are 10-4. The Hawks just got bounced in six. Reese leads the WNBA in rebounds and just shoved Caitlin Clark on national TV. Tell me who's running this city right now.

Angel Reese is the most important basketball player in Atlanta right now.

Not the most talented. Not the highest-paid. The most important.

The Hawks got sent home by the Knicks in six. That was three weeks ago. You know what happened since? The Dream went 10-4. Reese grabbed the WNBA rebounding lead. She became the fastest player in league history to reach 900 career rebounds -- 71 games. Tina Charles needed 75 games just to hit 50 double-doubles. Reese did it in 65.

And Thursday night she shoved Caitlin Clark, mocked her with the flop gesture, dropped 21 and 11, won by seven, and debuted the Reebok "Poison Angel" the same night Nike launched Clark's signature shoe.

That's not basketball. That's cultural warfare. And she won.

Here's the receipt that matters: StubHub reported a 15x spike in ticket sales the day she was traded. The Dream have sold out 50 straight games. They just added a sixth State Farm Arena date because demand broke the original schedule. The Hawks play 41 home games a year in that building. The Dream got six and had to fight for the last one.

Six games. Fifty sellouts. One player bending a franchise's gravity.

I'm 84% sure Reese matters more to Atlanta basketball right now than anyone wearing a Hawks jersey. The 16% is Jalen Johnson's ceiling. But ceilings don't sell out arenas. Reese does.

Tell me I'm wrong.

The Tilt

Angel Reese is doing more for basketball in Atlanta right now than any player on the Hawks roster, and the ticket sales prove it.
