Seven Held, One Season Ended

Falcons
Da'Shawn Hand's season is over after seven defensive snaps. The club said Monday afternoon that the injury he left Sunday's loss in Pittsburgh with is a quad, that it is expected to require surgery, and that Kevin Stefanski confirmed both.
One correction. This morning's edition said Hand was ruled out Sunday with a knee injury. That was the in-game designation, on the club's own Sunday report and on ESPN's injuries feed, and it was wrong; the quad is Monday's finding, and it is the club's. The morning edition has been updated.
Chris Lindstrom, who also left Sunday's game, goes into the concussion protocol, and Stefanski said he will know more as the week goes on. On Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr. the club gave no update. Miles has what the interior looks like without Hand. Dex has the take on the hedge the club already made. Sunday is Carolina at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, 1:00.
Braves
Chicago 7, Atlanta 3, game one of three at Wrigley Field and the second straight loss. The ninth went single, single, strikeout, and a walk that survived a Cubs challenge: Mauricio Dubón and Austin Riley had the singles, Sean Murphy the strikeout, Mike Yastrzemski the walk, and Ronald Acuña Jr. hit into a 6-4-3 with the bases loaded to end it. Ellis has the game. Atlanta are 88-63 and Philadelphia 83-67, four and a half clear, with eleven to play for Atlanta and twelve for Philadelphia. The magic number is seven by MLB's count, where it was this morning; it comes down only on an Atlanta win or a Philadelphia loss, and Monday supplied neither. Tuesday is 7:40 at Wrigley, Martín Pérez listed against Kevin Gausman.
Hawks
Nothing on the floor, and nothing Hawks-specific dated after Friday on ESPN's Atlanta news and transaction feeds or on the club's site, where the camp dates the AJC reported have still not appeared.
Atlanta United
No match, and the row is static until the East plays again on Friday: fourteenth on 23 from 25, W 6 D 5 L 14, nine points below ninth. Saturday is Portland, 10:30 Eastern, Providence Park.
One more thing. Monday gave Atlanta a scoreboard and a medical finding. The scoreboard left the Braves' number at seven, with eleven of their games and twelve of Philadelphia's still able to move it. The finding left Hand's season at seven snaps, and nothing left on any schedule moves that. Only one of the two is still open, and it is the one with the score attached.

Walt Weiss said late Monday night that Reynaldo López is likely headed to the injured list, and by dawn MLB's schedule had listed his replacement for Wednesday while its roster still had him active. The same afternoon, an insider named the quarterback the Falcons want and the head coach declined to name anyone.

The Falcons left Pittsburgh thinner on both lines, the replies picked a kicker to blame, and the club has said nothing since Sunday night. Elsewhere, the line Atlanta United are chasing rose two points on a night they did not play.
Three Misses, Two Losses, One Line Moved
A Pittsburgh outlet put three numbers on the Falcons game before kickoff and missed all three, and Atlanta lost by seven anyway. The same afternoon the Braves lost to the club chasing them, and the number that matters did not move.
