There is no NBA game anywhere tonight. Then Atlanta's week arrives all at once — Washington twice inside three days, two fixtures on Saturday, Madrid on Sunday.
The NBA's scoreboard for tonight is empty — not Atlanta's, the league's. Nothing else this week is: Washington on Wednesday, Washington again on Friday, Atlanta United at Red Bull New York and Brooklyn at State Farm Arena three and a half hours apart on Saturday, and Madrid on Sunday.
Hawks
Atlanta 108, Indiana 104, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday night, on the road, and two men short. Jalen Johnson sat with an ankle and Jock Landale with a hip, both day-to-day, and both rows carry a return estimate of Wednesday, which is also the date of the next game.
Washington lead the Southeast at 4-3. Atlanta are 4-4, half a game back, with nobody between them — Charlotte are 3-5, and Miami and Orlando are level at 2-5. Both Atlanta and Washington won on Monday, so the half-game held rather than closed.
The shape of the week is the part I would keep. Atlanta are at Capital One Arena on Wednesday and home on Friday: the same opponent twice inside three days, away and then home, with half a game between the clubs, and Friday carries an NBA Cup group-play designation that Wednesday does not. Neither club plays anyone else in between, so whatever that half-game reads on Saturday morning, Washington and Atlanta will have settled it between themselves. Brooklyn then arrive at State Farm Arena on Saturday night.
Simone has the homecoming Atlanta already held — in February, for a man who could not play in it. Dex is keeping the ledger, and his position is that half of what came back has been a coach's decision.
Falcons
Eight Atlanta players carry a non-Active designation this morning. Five of them — Brian Robinson Jr., Divine Deablo, Billy Bowman Jr., Cameron Williams and Beaux Collins — carry a return estimate of November 8, which is just the date of Atlanta's own next game. One, Anterio Thompson, reads February 2027. The column is on autofill, and it answers nothing.
Two rows break from it, and they are the two a person actually spoke about. Kevin Stefanski ruled Samson Ebukam and Zachariah Branch out of Madrid on November 2, at a press conference carried on the club's own site. The same day, James Pearce Jr.'s eight-game suspension ended and he became eligible. Eligible is the whole of it — he has no 2026 production and nobody has said he will play.
So Sunday is an exchange rather than a subtraction. Miles priced both halves of it this morning, and showed that most of the injury board everyone is about to read as a forecast is the schedule with a medical label on it. The finding I would carry out of it: Za'Darius Smith, not Ebukam, leads Atlanta in sacks at 4.5, and Za'Darius Smith is available. What Monday took was Ebukam's 2.5. Miles has the opponent too — Cincinnati have 23 sacks in seven games, against Atlanta's 18 in eight.
Braves
Atlanta claimed left-hander Mitchell Parker off waivers from Washington on Monday. He is 27, and this season he threw 39.2 innings across 22 relief appearances with a 6.58 ERA, a 1.49 WHIP, 34 strikeouts and 13 walks. It is the only transaction the club has filed since October 30.
The dates behind it are the better story. Tuesday November 17 at 6:00 PM Eastern is the deadline to add Rule 5-eligible players to the 40-man roster, and it falls exactly three days before the non-tender deadline — so the additions come before the subtractions, which is the opposite of the order most people assume.
Then the date behind that one. The labor agreement expires Tuesday December 1 at 11:59 PM Eastern, and a lockout is expected to begin the following day. If one does, the December 10 Rule 5 draft is in doubt. Which leaves November 17 as a deadline to protect players for a draft that may never be held.
Atlanta United
Saturday takes Atlanta United to Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey. The thing to know about it is the clock. Every club in the Eastern Conference kicks off at the same minute that afternoon — eight matches, 16 clubs, and the only one of the 16 not from the East is Vancouver Whitecaps, away at CF Montréal. No Eastern club plays later.
That matters because of who Atlanta are level with. Atlanta United and D.C. United both hold 33 points from 33 matches, and Atlanta are ahead on wins, nine to seven. D.C. United kick off at home against New York City FC at the same minute Atlanta kick off in Harrison. Neither club can watch the other. Red Bull New York, the hosts, have 39 points from the same 33 matches — 11 wins, six draws, 16 defeats.
One more thing.
One address keeps turning up. The Hawks are in Washington on Wednesday. Washington is in Atlanta on Friday. The only move the Braves have filed since October 30 took a left-hander off the Washington Nationals. And on Saturday, at the minute Atlanta United kick off in New Jersey, the club they are level with plays at home in Washington. The one Atlanta team with no Washington anywhere in its week is the Falcons, and they are in Madrid.
The Tilt
The league is dark tonight, and Atlanta's next five days are not.

Nobody in Atlanta plays today, and it is the last day this week on which nothing is settled. Friday decides a Cup group game, Saturday a season, and Sunday a home game four thousand miles from home.

Almost everything on Atlanta's board this morning is an estimate - a hip, an ankle, a hamstring, a table position. The exception is a Gold Glove won by a man who filed for free agency three days before it was announced.

The Hawks are the only Atlanta team playing today. Everything else this morning is a date — six days to Madrid, five to a match Atlanta United's own schedule feed does not list, and eighteen to the deadline that decides the Braves' bullpen.
